Some things I believe:
-With the exception of very few things, nothing in life is black and white. And if you think the world is black and white - you aren't thinking.
- It is more important to be interested than interesting.
- Listen more. Talk less (really working on this one)
- Listen and learn from the opposition.
Most of us surroung ourselves with like minded people. The result being that we are not encouraged to question our views.
Learning about different cultures, customs, religions, political views is critical to grow.
Here's the catch...
Once you allow yourself to see through other's eyes you quickly descend down the rabbit hole.
Life is never again black and white.
Opening that door is frightening...makes you question and assess all of your beliefs. The process is scary and turns your life upside down.
However, without expanding your mind, you cease to grow.
And then what?
- Humility is noble trait.
- After 30 or so you can no longer blame your parents. It's all on you.
